Snowshoeing!!!

One of our favorite activities in the winter is snowshoeing. And we even like it better when we can go in good company. Our friends Scott and Winnie are in town so we got together and went up snowshoeing. We went up to Donut Falls in Big Cottonwood Canyon. It is a beautiful hike in the winter. Sammy didn't get to the falls before he wanted to go home, but we still made it. I had him look for moose and reindeer. Here are some picture of the great time we had, kids and all.

The snow has arrived!

Well the last couple of days have left us with a lot of snow to play with. And with snow, comes snow removal. Luckily for us, we live next to my dad who owns a tractor which make snow removal an easy task. Also Sammy loves tractors so it give him a chance to cruise around on one.

As some of you might know I got a longboard for my birthday. It has been a blast to have. I almost feel like I am snowboarding. Although I think if a crash on the longboard it is going to hurt a little more than snow. I have been watching some videos of people longboarding to try and get a feel of what is possible on these things and I came across this video. These guys are doing some pretty cool stuff.

Halloween Fun!

We had so much fun on Halloween! We played at home with Grandma Embley, carving pumpkins and making doughnut spiders. We got to go trick-or-treating with the Andersons. It was just a great time! To top it all off we went to Grandma Kathy's for pizza dinner and time to play with the cousins! It was a great halloween!
(Haylee loved trick-or-treating. She wanted to be carried up to all the porches, or she would cry. She would get so excited when we were walking from house to house! It was great fun!)

Photo Shoot at Gardner Village

Each year my mom likes to take the kids to Gardner Village and have their pictures taken in their costumes. Here are a few of the pictures of the kids having a good time like always.

I think that it is almost impossible to get all of the kids looking at the camera at the same time. But if you take a few, you will eventually get pretty close.

The CUTEST bear on earth!!!

Wishing that those wings of their would let them fly.

Getting ready to launch.

Halloween Party

We had another fun Halloween Party. Chrissy is such a great host and always does a good job at making the whole thing fun for the family. Everyone was able to show up and that was nice.

Finding all the bones to put the skeleton together was fun for the kids.

Sammy loves to carve pumpkins. We carved pumpkins as well as put just eyes, ears, noses and mouths.

Haylee is just a cutie so that is why I had to put this picture on the page. I hope everyone has great Halloween.

The Grand Canyon and Southern Utah

Here are a few pictures from our family trip to the Grand Canyon. It is a beautiful place. If you thought that the Grand Canyon would just be surrounded by desert, guess again. The drive to the North Rim is through forests and meadows.

The lodge at the North Rim has some pretty cool views from its windows.

Sammy didn't want to be part of the family for most of the pictures we took.

One thing Sammy loves to do is feed ducks. This is a pond at a golf course in St. George. We had a great time and can't wait to get out again. Vacations never seem to last long enough and they never come fast enough again.

Our first family vacation this year!!

We finally got out on vacation!!! It's a small miracle in itself!!! Up until the day we left, we had no clue where we were going to go, but it was somewhere!! We decided on going to Capitol Reef National Park and hiking Calf Creek Falls. It was a BLAST!! Here are some pictures. Take a look at the blog on Jeremiah's website (www.openairlife.com/blog) for a day to day breakdown and more pictures.

We have the best children ever! They were the best travelers we could have asked for and the cutest kids! Sammy is one great hiker! He loved ckecking out the scenery, but he loved the rabbits at the hotel, the deer in the park, and the lizzards on the rocks the best. Haylee was just great to look around and check things out. She never cried unless she was hungry! What a great baby she is! She was very actively observant and seemed to smile at the scenery she liked. She didn't like when I would stop because she loved the motion and looking at new things.
All in all it was wonderful and fun to meet new people! We got to hike with a couple from Switzerland who also had a 3 year old and a 4 month old! It was great to chat with them and get to know them! We will really have to get over to Switzerland soon!
We are blessed to have such beautiful scenery to enjoy so very close to home! It is amazing to see the magnitude of our Heavenly Fathers Creations and enjoy them with our little family!
