Quote of the Day

"Think of life as a terminal illness, because if you do, you will live it with joy and passion, as it ought to be lived."

Easter

Easter was a great time this year. Sammy was getting the whole easter egg hunt thing down by the end of all the different parties we went to. He didn't like giving up his eggs. He found them why should he have to put them in a basket. He just wanted to play with them.

Helping him walk around

Easter baskets for everyone.

Grandpa and grandma with Sammy. And look he is not even crying!

Put it in the basket.

What is this thing anyway?

Sammy's 1st Birthday

Well we can not believe it is already here. The time has just flown by. It has been so much fun being parents. One thing that we are both so grateful for is family. We are so blessed to have such wonderful families. We had some much fun throwing birthday parties for him. It was fun to have family here to show their support to our little baby.

Sammy is ready to go on a bike ride. We decided to go down the Jordan River Parkway with him. It has been such beautiful weather and he just loves the outdoors.

Stopped at a park on the ride.

We needed to get some balloons for his party. He loves balloons. After getting them in the car with him it was a little close tight, but he loved it.

He is ready for some of the good stuff.

He got a little messy but that is what it is all about.

And everyone likes a little milk to wash down chocolate cake..

Sammy got some great gifts and we are so thankful to everyone that gave him something. But sometimes I think the box is the best toy out of everything. I know that Sammy loves them.

Bye Bye.
Thanks again to everyone.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Here is a picture of Sammy on St. Patrick's Day party and a little poem my mom found and gave to each of us.

Wishing you a rainbow
for sunlight after showers
Miles and miles of Irish smiles
for golden happy hours
Shamrocks at your doorway
For luck and laughter too
and a host of friends that never end
Each day you whole life through.

Can you sleep when the wind blows?

The other day at work a co-worker told me this story. I thought that it was a really good message so I am posting it for others to read. Hope you like it.

"Years ago, a farmer owned land along the Atlantic seacoast. He constantly advertised for hired hands. Most people were reluctant to work on farms along the Atlantic. They dreaded the awful storms that raged across the Atlantic, wreaking havoc on the buildings and crops. As the farmer interviewed applicants for the job, he received a steady stream of refusals.

Finally, a short, thin man, well past middle age, approached the farmer. “Are you a good farm hand?” the farmer asked him. “Well, I can sleep when the wind blows,” answered the little man. Although puzzled by this answer, the farmer, desperate for help, and hired him.

The little man worked well around the farm, busy from dawn to dusk, and the farmer felt satisfied with the man’s work. Then one night the wind howled loudly in from offshore. Jumping out of bed, the farmer grabbed a lantern and rushed next door to the hired hand’s sleeping quarters. He shook the little man and yelled; “Get up! A storm is coming! Tie things down before they blow away!”

The little man rolled over in bed and said firmly, “No sir. I told you, I can sleep when the wind blows.” Enraged by the response, the farmer was tempted to fire him on the spot. Instead, he hurried outside to prepare for the storm.

To his amazement, he discovered that all of the haystacks had been covered with tarps. The cows were in the barn, the chickens were in the coops, and the doors were barred. The shutters were tightly secured. Everything was tied down. Nothing could blow away. The farmer then understood what his hired hand meant, so he returned to his bed to also sleep while the wind blew."

I hope that we can always do the best job that we can do, no matter who is looking or how we might feel that day. I pray we can all prepare so we can sleep when the wind blows in our lives.

First Post

Chrissy and I were talking and we thought it might be a good idea to try and start a blog. We have a ton of pictures and I haven't been very good at updating our website with them. We thought this might be an easier way to let everyone know what is going on in our lives.
